Spine ajustments and P
« on: August 16, 2011, 10:27:59 PM »
Hi all. I read Paganos book recently and the section regarding the spine and its roll in our health grabbed me. I was wondering if anybody has visited a chiropractor whilst on the pagano diet? I have a rather poor posture and often get a stiff neck due to the way i sleep and wonder if a visit would also be beneficial for my p. Would like to hear if anybody has noticed an improvement in there p following spine ajustments/manipulation.  :)

Spine adjustments can do many wonderful things, some of them quite unexpected.

I was told about a little boy who kept wetting the bed.

It was so chronic and had gone on for so many years, that the child was on several different medications, and the doctor also wanted him to go on anti-depressants.

The mother and father were unhappy enough with him being on medication at such a young age, especially since it was not overly helping. But they totally drew the line at a child under ten being on anti-depressants too.

In a last-resort-desperation bid, they started looking at alternative therapies. To cut a long short short, the child had several sessions of spinal adjustments done and hey presto, never wet the bed again.

I have had spinal adjustments done with chiropractors, but that had nothing to do with pagano or psoriasis. I felt much better within myself for having it done, as it was very beneficial to back, shoulder and neck pain.

Just make sure you choose a properly qualified and experienced chiropractor – I have had some fantastic, good and downright bad ones.

You need to feel totally comfortable with the practitioner and have full trust in what he/she is doing.

One guy was quite brash with me during the verbal consultation, that I never went back for the spinal work. And I found one guy a bit rough, so I never saw him again. But one lady was so fantastic, gentle and good at her job, that I was totally relaxed and even fell asleep during the sessions. I had whiplash and my spine was out of alignment. I felt so good after the 3rd or 4th session, that I never had to go again. I claimed half the cost back on my health fund too.

If someone suggests seeing them every single week for 6 to 12 months, I would start to question their integrity. I have found that most good chiropractors tend to suggest 3 to 12 sessions - depending how bad you are - but often have you totally fixed by the 5th session.

I can’t say whether a few visits would be beneficial to your P or not, since I did not follow pagano to clear. But one single visit is unlikely to help that much, and you always have to go for a follow up session after your first anyway.

Anyway, if nothing else, it should help you with your posture and help you to sleep better. Which in the end, will have an overall beneficial impact on your general health and sense of well-being.

I don't suffer from insanity....I enjoy every minute of it!

I see an osteopath occassionally for sciatica and knee problems. They combine spinal adjustment with massage.
With teh sciatica the relief for me is instant after only one or two sessions - but I can't say it has significantly helped my p.
