It is now about a month since I started this thread. Everything is still going well. I am maintaining my resolve to eat only foods very low in sugar. The Psoriasis on my forearms is still slowly disappearing. It is now about one third of the size it was six months ago, certainly better than a month ago, and all other areas are improving. I am able to keep my weight at around ten and a half stone and there are no other side effects that I know of. A couple of things to report. Firstly, I tried baking some small cakes with Canderel sweetener instead of sugar, to help me keep my weight up. This caused a mini flare up of my Rosacea (so called), so I had to abandon that. Apparently heat changes the constituency of Canderel and that must have caused a reaction. The second thing may have wider implications for sufferers of Psoriasis. About two weeks ago I came across a research article about a study in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In this study, it was stated that out of 120 hospital patients with Psoriasis, 71 patients had some form of Carbohydrate Metabolism Alteration (or disorder). The article is here: You are not allowed to view links.

Now, the most important carbohydrate is Glucose, which is a simple sugar. This lends weight to my belief that too much sugar causes Psoriasis in some people. The Argentinian article also goes on to say that various studies worldwide, indicate an increased association with some co-morbidities such as, Insulin resistance, obesity and blood hypertension amongst others. I found other articles about Metabolic Syndrome which indicate Glucose intolerance, and slow metabolism etc. in patients with Psoriasis. What you think of all this is up to you but it doesn’t look like coincidence to me.
