Hi guys,
Was really interesting this evening watching this programme entitled The Food Hospital on Channel 4 at 8pm.
Its a new series and on their site explain that
Patients with a wide range of ailments are invited to attend the Food Hospital, where consultant surgeon Shaw Somers, dietitian Lucy Jones and GP Giovanni Miletto are among specialists aiming to discover if tailored food programmes can help.
Tonight they dealt with a 24-year-old woman suffering from polycystic ovary syndrome, and a 44-year-old single father battling type 2 diabetes. Pixie McKenna also investigated the truth about `superfoods', and the programme also features an experiment to see if chocolate can help combat high blood pressure.
Its just incredible !
And next week, they are dealing with P !!
So put that date in your diary folks. Diet made an incredible difference to each of the participants tonight - halting diseases in their tracks (diabetes) and in one case, migraine, provided the child stayed away from processed foods, he never again suffered and he had been having four attacks per week. The results speak for themselves. People were monitored over a 3 month period or perhaps longer.
Of course there are arguments constantly regarding the part diet plays - this independent study on various ailments provides proof that indeed it plays a large part.
Ooo and if you would like to participate, they are doing research re bloodpressure and are inviting people, regardless of whether they suffer or not, to participate. It involves having bloodpressure taken on 3 different occasions and again following a certain diet.
Hope you're all well,
Hugs
