Turmeric & Bromelain
« on: July 26, 2004, 09:56:08 AM »
I read recently that the spice Turmeric can be very good for treating P. People initially said they were taking a Tablespoon of it a day with water, YUCK! You can get this in capsule format which would be a lot easier. I have ordered 400mg capsules which I am going to take 2 of a day with a capsule of Bromelain which apparantly helps you digest the Turmeric easier.

If anyone has any more information on this or has tried it I would be very interested to hear, I will keep posting of the effects.

If taking turmeric, apparantly it thins the blood, so you shouldn't take aspirin or anything else that thins the blood while on it.

Hi there
I know there was a thread about turmeric and alot of interesting stuff written, I'm hoping someone more clever than me will be able to dig it up for you! I reckon it's used in chinese medicine for p and I believe it can be of some benefit but with reservations - wish I could remember. Maybe if you dig back through you'll come across it. :D

Well.... I'm now on acetretin (brand name Neotigason) , this is a vitamin a retinoid treatment and although I had done some research myself and was pretty sure that this was the drug that I wanted over MTX and Cyclosporin I still should have got more information from the derm about the the other options.  I also wanted to askabout some new(ish) topicals and forgot and...and some other general questions too...

Have a read of some of our boards here to get some ideas...or ask your own questions..

Guy ;)
