I read recently that the spice Turmeric can be very good for treating P. People initially said they were taking a Tablespoon of it a day with water, YUCK! You can get this in capsule format which would be a lot easier. I have ordered 400mg capsules which I am going to take 2 of a day with a capsule of Bromelain which apparantly helps you digest the Turmeric easier.

If taking turmeric, apparantly it thins the blood, so you shouldn't take aspirin or anything else that thins the blood while on it.

I suspect that there is far more than 400mg of turmeric in the average Indan curry but I have never seen a warning not to take aspirin on a restaurant menu.

Sorry, didn't explain this properly, attached article from Drug Digest:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scientific Name: Turmeric
Other Names: Curcuma, Curcuma species, Indian Saffron

Who is this for?

Uses

Note: Because turmeric may not be well absorbed from the intestines, many animal and human studies used injected or intravenous forms of turmeric or chemicals derived from it. While they may be commercially available in other parts of the world, injectable forms of turmeric are not sold in the United States. Blah, Blah, Blah...

Non-prescription Drugs
Turmeric can decrease the ability of blood to clot after an injury. Aspirin can also delay clotting, so turmeric should not be taken orally at the same time as aspirin
