vitamin d/ibuprofen treatment
« on: December 09, 2006, 04:18:40 PM »
To condense the vitamin D/ibuprofen treatment and to save you from my rambling blather, This is an attempt to be a little more succinct

If you are on some current treatment certainly don't drop what you are doing if it involves standard medicine.
If you have sarcoidosis or lymphoma or are allergic to aspirin don't try this.

one small multivitamin

 and add to that
1000 iu of vitamin D3 (not D2) more in winter less in summer (1000IU= 25mcg)
                   200mcg selenium
                   250 mcgB12.......
                   400 mcg folic acid

                   2x 1000 flax seed oil
                   2 x 1200 fish oil
400mg calcium if you don't eat a lot of dairy cheese etc...
200 mg ibuprofen in the  evening with water or fluid

If cost is an issue...then take

1000 iu -1500 iu of vitamin D3 (not D2)........ more in winter less in summer
             multivitamin
200mg ibuprofen with water or fluid..

go for cheap...should be less then $.25/day

I take it BJ you've had some good results with this? Can I just ask about the ibuprofen and where that fits into this? I've also added a link for the Vitimins etc which does free delivery.

I have extensive coverage on my chest and back and forearms. Less on the thighs.

I have been doing this treatment for two weeks (but without the D3...I am trying to source that), and have noticed less plaques forming and the skin quietening down. Have taken a photo.

I feel my skin is "pre remission" as it does this before beginning to form patches of normal skin.

I have had remissions before...one started when I swithed moisturisers, so I can't say thia treatment is 100%, but I feel that it is enough for me to continue.

The site reccomended above for free delivery of vitamins , doesn't sell D3....anybody any suggestions ??, i'm in the UK.

Thanks BJMAC!!!!!!

Hi

The vitamin D it sells is D3 I think. Here is the description:

"Vitamin D, the 'sunshine' vitamin, is normally produced in the skin after exposure to sunlight. We also get it from food such as fish and animal livers. This vitamin's importance in the absorption of calcium and preventing osteoporosis is well established. But researchers have recently discovered many other quite remarkable health benefits, including reducing the risk of certain cancers and other diseases. Higher Nature's Vitamin D is provided in its most bio-available form, cholecalciferol (called vitamin D3), and as an oil in a capsule (tablets of vitamin D are less effective)."

oohsuitusir...the D3 is the most critical part...it won't work without it...and it may not work with it... 8-)

cholecalciferol is Vitamin D3

no, it'll work...the vitamin D takes about a month to achieve results...but its a MUST part of the the treatment..

its why uvb works, the dead sea works, sunlight.. etc..gotta have it...now getting the proper amount is the the intangible, especially this time of year...i can only say more in winter ...and less in summer ..i'm taking 1500 IU of D3...thats 37 mcg of vitamin D3

conversion is (12.5 mcg = 500 IU....25mcg= 1000IU)

Grand theory...ibuprofen...Sorry, i had a rambling comatose explanation in my last post.."i have a definite treatment"...i think bottom of page 1.. i realized i went off in so many tangents that i had clouded the treatment so posted this synopsis..but ibuprofen seems to help with the action of the vitamin D...ibuprofen is an important part in the beginning but i think as a remission of symptoms occurs one can back off the ibuprofen to every other day or less.etc..i just ran short of it for 4 days with no noticeable change. I think once you achieve a plateau if you were to stop the treatment, it takes about a month for any return of flares, symptoms etc..similiar to what you'd experience in the fall or after vacation.

hopefully this makes sense.,,it won't cure but it'll more then help and it may improve your general health

hi andi...hopefully you mean 12.5 ug not 125...12.5 ug which equals 500iu  of vitamin D

ug and mcg (micrograms are the same)

so 12.5 ug =12.5 mcg = 500 IU of vitamin D (cholecalciferol)

Hi Grandtheory..quote ....Higher Nature's Vitamin D is provided in its most bio-available form, cholecalciferol (called vitamin D3), and as an oil in a capsule (tablets of vitamin D are less effective)."

I know its not you but only a drug stores sales attempt which is just marketing nonsense...tablets work just as well...any half truth for profit...

when did profit trump honesty as a virtue?

get the cheapest D3 cholecalciferol you can get...

hoping this helps..hell, i know it will

bj

you can bet if the pharmaceutical companies could get a patent on vitamin D they'd be pushing the stuff like candy...

I give in....I click on the links and get to the higher nature website. I tyope D3 into search...no results, I click on vitamiins and go to a page with B,E and C vitamins ...but no D!!!
