So BJ, can you describe the extent of the improvement you've seen with this? A before and after type thing.

Thanks

Before.....My arms  were covered, legs were covered., one plaque  around my waist was about a foot square, hair was covered, and painful Pa in shoulder and hands, and bad pitting in every fingernail. Ay times my palms would completely scale over.

There was serious bleeding through my pants after a bath, sheets covered in blood in the morning, clothes covered in skin flakes, red spots and flairs all over..sleep was a travesty.

it started as what i thought was dandruff...at 40...and it just got worse..

now, I have one small dry patch on my wrist.

My nails, hair, waist, legs  and arms (small spot) are completely clear, no PA at all, No scratching or  itching,,,nothing, No colds or sinus infections (which i used to get alot of.)

I ended the treatment last winter as a test, i returned to  full blown P in a few months, very severe...This spring started again but had only partial remission...something was missing,,.This past summer i woke up twice each night with PA pain...and again only partial remission..This fall,  i discovered the ibuprofen effect with D which i had unknowingly taken the previously year.....tried it, increased the D for Fall and again, achieved the original results.

But, it's tough to start this time of year, it takes some time to reprogram the tcells and build up vitamin D levels.

hope this suits your inquiry ...read the links..if nothing else the D cuts cancer and heart disease risk.

good luck bj 8-)

There is a posting about ibuprofen in the rec room at the moment. BJ did you take it for your PA and discovered it worked well with the D3 or was there some other reason?

P.S Picked up a box of 60 for....what for it.....£1.45!

Correct grand, the second year i only got partial remission and was pretty disappointed, what was i doing differently? man, i wracked my brain...i could not figure it out..

.then i happened along this article

and realized the only thing different was my elimination of ibuprofen (which i was taking before bed so i could sleep with the PA pain and itching )

Thinking it may be the missing link, this fall i once again began taking the ibuprofen along with the increased D and the rest of the formula and  achieved the same positive response. So, my guess is the D and ibuprofen do enhance each other as in the linked study for prostate tumors.

The selenium, folate and b12 may have some interaction..i do not know...presently i am off selenium to see if there is a response or lack of one.

hope this helps...."the barney treatment" after the ole' man, who had P his entire life.

Well I've got all the ingrediants for this now so I'm going to start it right away. The vit D is 500 iu (12.5ug) so I'm going to take 2 of those a day. The multi vit also provides 200 iu (5ug) so that should make a total of 1200 iu (30ug) a day. On top of this I will add the following:

2000mg fish oil

1000mg flax seed oil

400 ug folic acid

200ug selenium

20mg zinc (1 to 1 ratio)

200mg ibuprofen

Wish me luck!

hi grand...looks about right...i also take

200mcg B12..here's a link You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
but you probably get enough from the multivitamin

The zinc is new to me...i don't know if it'll help or interfere..

i take the one ibuprofen in the evening with water or a snack..don't know if the time  makes a difference, but this is what has worked...D and the rest at breakfast and one 200 mg ibuprofen at night

The 1200 iu vitamn D is a little lighter then what i take this time of year but thats your decision., it might work great for you....i take 1500 and another 400 via the multivitamin. In the summer i take 800- 1000 iu, but then i got a lot of sun.....

.i think that heart study You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login
claimed cytokine reduction came about as you approached 2000 iu of D

Here's more accurate research for anyone interested in Vitamin D  dosage and how it's been maligned over the years.

well grand..i hope this helps...i  believe it will and good luck!..bj

lol...well, i said it would be slow,..if it were spring..improvement would be a little quicker getting some sun etc.....this time of year its difficult getting the levels up..even maintaining them

that last link i posted has some heavy reading but well worth while...showing dosages and changes in active D25 levels..half life of D etc..

another reason change is slow is that misprogramed tcells, dendritic cells have a lifespan and they have to die off before the D can "moderate the new cells..

so improvement is slow..but this time of year, any improvement is a plus ..winter is a killer for me...by feb i would be covered..

well andi..be patient...think months..change in a severe case like mine would be more obvious..but you wouldn't want that!!..:0)
