how long to take ibuprofen because if taken for a long while it causes stomach ulcers.

so its

1000iu vit d3

multivitamin

ibuprofen

then cut off the ibruprofen

Hi Carter.. 1000-2000iu of Vit D, BJ has the full formula listed a few posts back :)  Unfortunately its not a good idea to stop the ibu once you start taking it.. if i miss it i get very very red very very quickly which only goes away once i take it again.. I halved my dosage (I was on 400mg) for 2 months and had a mild flare-up.. but the good news is that 200mg is considered a safe dose - talk to your doc about it he will soon let you know if there is any reason why you shouldnt take such a low dose long term...

what time of the day should each be taken?

Any time that suits you.. both vit D and ibu should be taken with food, when i first started i split my Vit D up into 4 doses each day to combat the itch and the ibu in the evening.. now I take my Vit D at lunchtime and ibu in the evening.

I feel for you {{hugs}} the good news is that it does subside but it does take a while for some.. stick with it, split the vit d over the day and keep moisturising!  Keep your moisturiser in the fridge, that helps too and not too hot baths can help as well.. I'm pretty sure BJ only had the itch for a week or so and he found taking an extra ibu helped with that..

And if you havent already, take pics!! Its the best way to measure your progress!

You can take pics of scalp P.. or around the hairline if it shows there.. you just need a friendly pair of hands to hold the camera  :D and a good light, I've found a flexible desk light the best!

As its on your scalp and you have the itch, be extra carefull not to scratch.. if your scalp P is anything like mine it can get infected really easily once you break the skin so gloves on or sit on your hands!!  :P

I'm using normal shampoo now but before i could only use soap substitute as a shampoo, i reacted to anything else, even coal tar shampoos.. prob best to ask your doc if there is any conflict, there shouldnt be but its always best to check..

Hmm thats a hard one to split up.. should be ok, you'll just have to bear with the itch i'm afraid but hopefully it wont last too long..

I washed my hair every day, if i didnt the build up got too bad and my scalp cracked in a strong wind.. and i found daily soaking helped prevent that, and stopping the build up helps the itch too so worth doing unless it makes your scalp feel worse in which case cut it back to every 2 days :)
