Leamarie,

I can relate to what your saying. I also have been thinking of stopping the MTX, they only have me on 10 mg, but thte jint pains are getting worse and in areas that are not normally sore.  I dont feel that the drug is helping so what is the point.

I think a break, even for 6 months, will let you evaluate if the drugs are working for you or are against you.

This is a wholly personal decision, but the comments from others may be worth considering, next step possible biologiss ?
I think quality of life is important and that includes that with your family. I am also irritible most days and feel that it is  not fair on my family.

I also made the decision to stop taking MTX nearly three years ago. I could not cope with the fatigue and fuzzy head. I discussed the matter with my Rheumy Nurse and we agreed that I would not take any further drugs for a while; only painkillers. If a joint becomes a problem then I have a steroid injection into it. I have found that i can cope with the pain better than the side effects. I am aware that my joints are at risk My advice is talk about it with your Health Professional. Be frank and open to ideas.

So far I have no side effects whatsoever from Humira unless a few infections that required antibiotics count as a side effect but I'v been plagued with them since the 1st infection that set of the arthritis a few years ago when I was'nt on any dmards atall.
